About Bold Factory

At Bold Factory, we're building modern Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM/MES) software that helps small and medium-sized industrial companies move beyond paper and Excel.

Our product connects production planning, materials, inventory and shop-floor operations. We're based at Lanzadera in Valencia, and the software we build is already used by real companies to run their day-to-day operations.

The role

We're looking for a Software Engineering Intern who enjoys programming, wants to understand how a product works and is keen to grow across the full stack.

You'll work alongside our founders and engineering team to build features from business logic and APIs through to the interface. You'll contribute to a product that reaches factories every week, with guidance, code reviews and progressively more ownership as you learn.

This is a paid university internship. You must be enrolled at a university with which we can sign an internship agreement.

The challenge

In a factory, orders, materials, machines and people all depend on each other. A change to one workflow can affect several others, so building useful software starts with understanding the problem.

You'll learn how to turn those problems into clear interfaces, reliable business logic and maintainable code. We want you to ask questions, explore trade-offs and care about what happens after a feature reaches users.

What you'll do

Build features across the full stack

You'll help develop new modules and improve existing ones using React, Next.js and TypeScript on the frontend and C# and .NET on the backend. You'll take part in the whole development cycle: understanding the need, discussing an approach, implementing it, testing it and reviewing the result.

Learn how we structure the product

Our backend uses a modular monolith, with Clean Architecture and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) to organise business logic and keep responsibilities clear. You'll learn these ideas by applying them to real features, with support from the team.

Use AI as part of your engineering workflow

We encourage tools such as Cursor and Claude Code to explore approaches, speed up implementation and help write tests. You'll learn to give them useful context, review their output and verify that the code solves the intended problem. Understanding and being able to explain what you ship is part of the job.

Test, debug and improve

You'll write automated tests, investigate bugs and use feedback to make features more reliable. You'll practise breaking down problems, checking assumptions and reviewing changes with other engineers.

Connect your work to the people using it

You'll work closely with product and engineering to understand how manufacturers use Bold. You'll see how your decisions affect the people planning production, managing materials and working on the shop floor, and have a voice in how we improve the product.

How we work

We work in short iterations, discuss technical decisions together and review code before it reaches production. You'll have support when you get stuck, feedback on your work and room to propose better ways of doing things.

We're based at Lanzadera in Valencia, with three days a week in the office and flexible working hours. We'll organise your internship so that classes, exams and your final degree or master's project are compatible with your learning and responsibilities at Bold.

Our stack

• Backend: C#, .NET 10 and ASP.NET Core.
• Frontend: TypeScript, React, Next.js and React Query.
• Cloud: Azure.
• Databases: SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Analytics: Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
• Messaging: Azure Service Bus and RabbitMQ.
• Testing: TUnit and Playwright.

You don't need to know every tool on this list. It gives you a picture of the environment you'll learn in; we'll help you build the knowledge you need for each task.

What we're looking for

• You're studying at a university and can formalise an internship agreement with it. This is a mandatory requirement.
• You enjoy programming and can show us something you've built: a personal project, university work or an open-source contribution.
• You have a foundation in programming and can explain how your code works, how you structured it and how you approached a problem.
• You're curious about both frontend and backend development and keen to learn our stack.
• English: B2 minimum, C1+ preferred. Our codebase is in English, and you'll use it to read documentation and discuss technical ideas. No formal language certificate is required.
• You take initiative, ask for help when you need it and respond well to feedback.
• You care about the quality of your work and want to understand the product behind the code.

Even better if...

• You've built something with React, TypeScript, C# or .NET.
• You've worked with APIs, relational databases, Git or automated tests.
• You've used AI coding tools and can explain how you checked and improved their output.
• You have projects on GitHub that show your curiosity and how you solve problems.

No previous professional experience is required. We care about your interest in engineering, what you've tried to build and your willingness to keep learning.
