Culture, minus the posters

We do not need everyone to think alike. We need to work well together.

Our values are not polished words. They are the tensions we resolve every day, and the side we choose when both options come at a cost.

Our values

01Simplicity

Simplicity by design

Complexity must prove it deserves to exist.

When we can solve a problem well with fewer steps, options, rules, tools or processes, we choose that path. Simple does not mean simplistic: we accept complexity when it genuinely adds value, but never by default. Before adding something, we ask what we can remove.

02Action

Ship to learn

Reality is better information than our hypotheses.

We prefer to test a small version early and learn from reality rather than spend weeks perfecting an assumption. We favour action and are aggressive with reversible decisions. Getting it wrong quickly is fine; repeating the same mistake is not.

Customer data, safety and operations are no place for blind experimentation.

03Judgment

Challenge openly. Commit fully.

We disagree before the decision. We commit after it.

We expect you to challenge a decision when you believe there is a better one, including when it comes from the founders. Do it with reasoning, evidence and an alternative. We do not hide behind authority or seek endless consensus. Once a decision is made, the whole team pushes in the same direction.

04Leverage

Automate the repeatable

Does a human make this better?

Human attention is our scarcest resource. We spend it where judgment, creativity or the customer relationship make a difference. Everything else, we try to eliminate, simplify or automate. We apply inside Bold the same conviction we use to automate factories.
